“Calling the Gold Coast Home” Join us for our Open House on September 23rd! Those of us living in Davenport’s Gold Coast know our neighborhood is pretty special place and has been since Antoine LeClaire included many of its streets in his plat of the new town of Davenport back in 1836. If you’re in the market for a new home, we invite you to join us for a homes-for-sale open house on Sunday, September 23rd from 12N-4PM. We’re calling the day “Calling the Gold Coast Home” because that is exactly what we’d like you to do. A variety of homes in all price ranges, historic styles and square footage to meet the needs of all types of families are for sale. Currently, nine are scheduled to be open on the 23rd. Some of the homes are represented by local real estate companies and some are for sale by owner. Our neighborhood, located on the hills above downtown Davenport, from 5th to 9th Streets and Ripley to Vine, features spectacular Mississippi River views. In 2011, it was designated as one of 10 Great Neighborhoods by the American Planning Association. The APA honors places of “exemplary character, quality and planning.” It is the first neighborhood in Iowa to receive this award. In addition to the open houses, the free event will include an information center located on the grounds of “The Castle,” one of our neighborhood’s best loved historic homes. (The home itself is not for sale and will not be open on Sunday.) At The Castle, a listing sheet for all homes participating in the open house as well as additional information about the neighborhood will be available. Visitors will also have a chance to speak with financial officers, and learn about various agency, city and state homeowner incentives. The event is being sponsored by the Gold Coast-Hamburg Historic District Association and is our first ever public homes-for-sale open house event. What: “Calling the Gold Coast Home: a Homes-for-Sale Open House.” For sale properties throughout the neighborhood will be open for tour in Davenport’s “First Neighborhood.” Visitors may pick up a listing of for sale homes at an informational fair located at “The Castle” at 615 North Ripley Street or at www.davenportgoldcoast.org. When: Sunday, September 23rd, 2012, 12N – 4PM. Where: Davenport’s Gold Coast-Hamburg Historic District, 5th to 9th, Ripley to Vine Streets.
